Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa | Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/gurunanakgurdwara-singhsabha Guru Nanak Gurdwara Singh Sabha is the oldest Gurdwara Sahib in Preston, Lancashire, UK. Established in 1966, the Gurdwara Sahib has been a special place of learning and worship for Sikhs community and alike. Situated in the heart of the city centre and close to the university, the Gurdwara Sahib has served both the international students and the homeless community in Preston. Over the past decade the demands from the building have grown however, the community has been restricted due to costs of the project and the state of the buil…

WJKK WJKF! How long will this forum remain online for in a readable & accessible state? It appears susceptible to shut-down. It would be a shame if all the forum's content from over the decades is lost in such an event due to servers hosting this forum shutting-down. This forum, whilst not currently active, remains an important repository of the Sikh religion online. It also is a fundamental aspect of Sikh cyber culture that existed from the early Internet period from the 2000's to 2010's before the domination by big social-media sites that consolidated the community. Thus, have the web-masters of this forum considered archiving this forum's contents before it is l…

In December, I'm going to India to take Pahul at Anandpur Sahib (with Maharaj's kripa). I had some questions on Kirpan laws - last post on this was years ago so has anything changed? 1) Can I bring back a full size shastar from Chandigarh Airport to the UK? 2) Can I carry this in India? I see Nihangs carrying full swords in Punjab but is this legal in cities like Chandigarh? 3) Can I take this Kirpan to Darbar Sahib? I remember reading an Article saying that swords were banned there or something? Please tell me this isn't true Bhul Chuk Maaf

In the uk we have Ramgharia gurdwaras, in some places ther are called Ramgharia sabha! However, I think most gurdwaras and even sikhs calling themselves "Ramgharia" are scamming us as they have weak or no connections to Ramgharia misl, and are just using the fact that they are tarkhans they can use the Ramgharia term because Jassa Singh Ramgharia was from tarkhan background. Please prove me wrong! Also, I have been observing gurdwaras since I was young. I remember when I was a child in the 80s and 90s, Singh Sabha gurdwaras still allowed shoes and langar was eaten on tables, in the times when the adults used to work all the time, doing double shifts etc. …

With Maharaj's kripa, I have signed up at the local Gurdwara Sahib and will be taking Amrit on Vaisakhi. To all the Singhs who have taken Pahul, is a Bana Chola needed or is long navy kurta top without Pajama also fine? Also which colour Bana Chola did Maharaj and the original Panj Pyaare wear in 1699 Vaisakhi? Most pictures show either Kesari or Navy blue. I know the point is the Amrit itself and not what colour they wore but it'd be nice to know. (PS: I'm taking Amrit from the normal SGPC Sikh Rehat Maryada, not Damdami Taksal or Nihang Rehat)

I was searching igurbani.com which gives correct pronunciation of Gurbani. I can’t remember all of it at once. I guess it relies on more practice, like more Sehaj Paths. The meaning becomes clearer. I have noticed slight variants in it. This could be because it’s written in old Punjabi.
