Trying to give up eating meat

A lot of the new stuff is based around wheat protein but a lot of meat alternative is still soya based, Quorn have introduced their vegan stuff that doesn't have egg in it, we tried it and didn't like it but then we don't eat a lot of their products anyway.

The wheat protein stuff has been around for years.. its called seitan (its the stuff they use for mock meats in chinese take-aways). Its made from wheat gluten... sorry to break it to you but they will be using the cheapest wheat (GMO stuff) to get the gluten, then they hyper-process it to get the chewy meaty stuff. Given that people's intolerance of modern wheat (high protein/gluten GMO wheat) is rising, you aren't going to do well on this if you eat it regular. 

The one I can just about tolerate these days is the Green Cuisine range as mentioned above. Its similar to higher protein meat alternatives that I had in France. Its based on Peas. It tastes nice too (not trying to be overly fake meat).

But then again Jhatka Goat blows this fake stuff out of the water. You can look into how to getting it in the UK via Nihang types.

My mum used to make soya chunks in a thuri,  which was pretty nice. But I have been a meat eater all my life, was watching this program about undigested meat that is just stuck in your body. So thought I'd give up on the meat or try at least.

good luck with your journey, and remember its just that 'a journey'. Some stuff you'll like at different stages of it, the more in tune you become with your body, the more you'll understand what it needs, and then you'll provide that. Unfortunately, things these days aren't as black and white (as they were in the Guru's days) when food was organic and grown with love and compassion.

Thanks for the information, I don't eat a lot of the "fake meat" food's, prefer to stick to traditional Punjabi food.

We do okay with wheat based stuff, we've made home made seitan a few times, it's okay once you marinade the living hell out of it.

I'm not going to get into a debate about Jhatka meat, if you think it's okay to eat it then go for it, i personally don't eat meat and Jhatka meat is a no no as well.

most of these vegan alternatives are highly processed and unhealthy. Most of the food in supermarkets is unhealthy with all the added sugar and preservatives and what not. The only thing i buy from the grocery store is fruits, vegetables, pulses and grains. Gave up on all the processed food. But i didn't know meat was bad for health? There are some nutrients like b12 and all which are abundant in meat and extremely hard to find in plant based food. So what about that? Maybe the meat has become unhealthy because of what the animals are fed ? There were tribal groups living in forests who hunted and ate meat and like they barely had any diseases. So I'm not sure if it's meat itself that is bad?

Usually at manmukhi farms, they tend to feed the animals food that is dangerous a long with not treating animals with daya.

Yeah they pump them full of all types of stuff, but the way they shred unwanted chicks and they way they kill the animals is why I stopped eating meat.

Soy is mostly GMOs. There pushing meat substitutes but cant compare to it. Look list of ingredients.

Hunt your food or do jhatka supermarket stuff off limits its killed inhuman manner maybe cross contamination halal food n filled with drugs.

Meat milk make you very physically strong I have done both way vegetarian and meat only. Meat will get you a physique that with whey protein cant and the amount of whey needed to make the equivalent is tons.

But veggie you have less lean mass strength is not as much and the high amount of carbs is damaging to liver and make it fat. Plus insulin issues etc. Indian food with balance of meat is best make your food with ghee extra virgin olive oil. Avoid soy vegetarian oil canola soy makes estrogen higher.

 

Bandi Khalsa was vashnoo they didnt eat garlic or onion and jhatka meat. But tat Khalsa did jhatka and easily defeated bandi Khalsa in wrestling.

Guy on youtube eats raw meat his testosterone went higher two twins one vegan the other with meat diet. Vegan lost weight but lean mass and the other gained weight but more in lean mass then fat.
